about.
Our mission at Salvage Arts is to promote the recycled art movement by creating unique, high-quality art pieces using salvaged and repurposed materials. We strive to inspire creativity, encourage environmental consciousness, and contribute to a sustainable future.
Bruce Rivera is the President and founder of Salvage Arts, a recycled art movement that was formed in 2021. He was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but later moved to Arizona where he began his professional art career in 2008 as a tattoo artist. Currently, he resides in Edmonds, Washington, with his wife and three boys, where he works as a tattoo artist at Slave to the Needle in Ballard and as a resident studio artist at Graphite Arts Center.
Aside from tattooing, Bruce also creates art in various mediums such as painting, sculpting, and drawing, all in his unique style. He is also known for making Japanese Noh theatre inspired handmade Hannya Masks. Bruce's passion for art and the environment led him to establish Salvage Arts, a repurposed art community that aims to promote sustainable living by using recycled materials to create art. Through Salvage Arts, Bruce plans to offer free classes, workshops, and demos to the community, as well as themed recycled art shows. With big plans for the future, Bruce hopes to make a positive impact on the environment and inspire others to do the same.
